club update

Hi gang I'm so sorry update is so late tonight is club night and also a guest night. Our guests some of you may know or if you were at the Xmas party you would have been blown away by them. Walk like fool does are a relatively new band with guitarists, drummer, accordion player and singer but you may already know the members as they started of as separate artists at the club, their style of music is kinda gypsy/romany I think is the best way to describe it but it's foot tapping hand clapping music that I'm will appeal to everyone and I am sure it will be a great night, I hope you can make it. Club opens at 8.30pm hope to see you there luv Lxx

Club review by Jack McCully

Hi, I`m going to start this review a little bit differently by getting something off my chest. The Cleveland is an ideal venue for a folk club. It has a room where the noise from downstairs is unable to penetrate, it serves real ale in excellent condition at very reasonable prices and is in an easily accessible area. So why on a guest night were there only ten people in the room? That figure includes Lorna, the club guest Kevin Seisay and kevin and carolann Roddy who assist Lorna on club nights. If you were not there on Friday here is a message for you. GET YER BACKSIDE DOWN TO THE CLEVELAND ON A FRIDAY AND GIVE LORNA THE SUPPORT SHE DESERVES.
OK I managed to say that without using language that would be inappropriate. The evening started with resident singer Ian Sproson doing one of his black country songs and continued with Jonny Rep followed by my contribution to the evening. We then had a welcome visit from Bo weevil fiddler Dom Dudill who played a selection of tunes for us. The first half was brought to a conclusion by our excellent guest Kevin Seisay. Kevins` style reminded me of my other love in music, trad jazz.
In the second half Jonny Rep was accompanied by Dom to make a sort of Bo weevil minus four plus one. Can you get you head round that? After all the floor singers had done their second spot, a very enjoyable evening was rounded off by guest Kevin Seisay. If you were there, thanks for coming.

club update

Hi gang, hope you're all well, as many of you know the last club night had to be cancelled, so this week is a guest night. Our guest this Friday is the absolutely brilliant singer songwriter and musician, and comedy sketch writer, Kevin Seisay, Kevin came to see Jo Zeff at the X-mas party and even joined in and played for us. Since Kevin has returned to music, his style has changed somewhat and Kevin said he wants to return to his roots and where his music started, so Friday night will not only be a great night it may even be a night of history. The club opens at 8.30pm hope you can make it see you Friday luv Lxx
