Club Update

Hiya gang, just a short note to let you know it's club night this Friday 31st August, and is a guest night. Our guest this week is the phenomenal Garron Frith, Garron came to our club last year after being referred by Claire  Mooney, and he didn't disappoint . Garron from Manchester, is a singer/songwriter as well as being a talented musician has an astounding array of musical styles, ranging from folk to blues and much more, he's also a really nice person too, definitely not to be missed. The club starts at 8.30pm be there early to get a seat, hope to see you then luv Lxx

Hiya gang, sorry I was unable to make it on Friday, but I cracked a tooth while I was away and had to have it removed, but the show must go on and the night was hosted by the wonderful Ian Sproson helped by Kevin Roddy, so a big thank you for standing in at such short notice X  Next club night is on the 31st August when our guest will be brilliant singer songwriter Garron Frith, definitely not to be missed I'll remind you all nearer the time. If you want to have a preview of Garron checkout his video on 'guest videos list' below or go to Garron Frith.co.uk to hear more,  luv Lxx

Club Update

Hiya gang, hope you are all well, just a short note to let you know the club reopens again this Friday 17th August, after being closed briefy for summer holidays. This Friday is a singers, musicians and poets night. I'm sure you all know this but just in case you are reading this for the first time, this Friday is open for anyone to come along and sing, play an instrument or read poetry, whether you own works or someone else's it matters not, and even better if you are able to do all three, lol. The club is there as a forum for anyone to perform to a very laid back audience or just to be entertained, the club starts at 8.30pm. The next guest night is on 31st August when our guest will be the absolutely brilliant Garron Frith, you can see a preview of Garron if you click on guest video list below, hope to see you Friday luv Lxx

Friday Night Review & Update

Hiya gang, thank you to everyone who made it on Friday, it's great to have Sproggy and guide dog Corky there, the only dog with a folk club sat nav!! According to Ian, when they get off at the Metro station in Crumpsall, Corky knows exactly where he's going and  Ian is literally brought to the folk club, he's then deserted at the bar and Corky comes up the stairs to the club ha ha well trained dog !! It was lovely to have Stuart Thompson join us, he and Steve Woolley make a brilliant duo. We also had the talented Keelan sisters, Fran played some of her own songs,  plus Alex read some of her own poems they were both really good, so we're looking forward to them coming back again. We were very lucky to have the lovely Sue Thornton singing more traditional songs for us, so on the whole a very good night. The club is closed now due to summer holidays, we will be open again on 17th August. So until then enjoy the sun, the Olympics and probably loads of BBQ's!! Club Update

Hiya gang, just a short note to tell you this Friday is a club night, it's a singers, musicians and poets night and anyone is welcome to come along whether it is to play, sing or perform in an entertaining manner or just enjoy being entertained.  After Friday night the club will be closed for two weeks, due to summer holidays or should I say soggy holidays!! The club will reopen again on Friday 17th August, but I hope you can make it on Friday, there's a couple of new artist's coming too who are well worth seeing and supporting, we start at 8.30pm as usual see you then luv Lxx

Friday Night Review

Hiya gang, in the words of Ian Sproson ; Great night as ever with Mike giving a great performance as ever. Nice group of people there also to give the night a great atmosphere. Must check out the videos on the blog soon. I couldn't put it better myself! It truly was excellent, shame we ran out of time, but Mike's agreed to come back again as a special guest appearance on a singers night and sing the rest of the songs on his list lol. Next club night is 20th July which is a singers-musicians-poets night so see you then luv Lxx

Club Update

Hiya gang, hope everyone is well, just a short note to let you know this Friday 6th July is a guest night. Our guest this week is the extremely entertaining, Mike Bowden, a club favourite. Mike has always supported the club, the first time around too, and was liked for has laid back style, plus his blues like songwriting. Mike has a video on our Guest Video feature if you want short preview. The club starts 8.30pm and you will need to be there early, last time Mike was at the club, the audience was greater than we anticipated and we had to bring more chairs in!!
